The principal day of Golden Jubilee celebrations in 2002 began in the central shopping centre in Slough where the Queen and Prince Philip watched a Cosmic Egg, circled by serpent and dragon, representing the birth of the universe, open up and reveal the sun and planets spinning around. Then a choir of local young people sang Lennon/McCartney's "All you need is Love", and the song was transmitted live by the BBC, picked up and resung in cities around the UK.
