Leaves are a regular feature in Gail's classroom work.
The straightforward shape of an ovate leaf is easy to reproduce in clay, providing a surface on which to paint, engrave or sculpt.
Once fired, the ceramic leaf is hard and durable, and often fits well with the kinds of themes that appeal to schools and parks: images of trees, jungle, birds, insects.
Examples include
the Jungle climbing wall. Eldon school, Preston 2006;
leaf swirl path at McDermott Grove park in Peckham London
